Suge Knight And Katt Williams Arrested And Charged With Robbery: Suge Facing Up To 30 Years In Prision
Suge Knight and comedian Katt Williams were arrested and charged with robbery Wednesday, Oct. 29, after a celebrity photographer made allegations that the two men stole her camera Sept. 5 in Beverley Hills. The rap mogul, 49, who is no stranger to criminal charges, could be facing 30 years to life in prison for the recent charges, reported The Los Angeles Times. Knight was arrested in Las Vegas and taken into custody. The Death Row Records founder has prior convictions for assault with a deadly weapon, prosecutors said.
Williams, 43, will face up to seven years in prison if convicted for the crime. Hours after being released Oct. 30, Williams was stopped by cameras and said that "I knew that she was engaged inappropriately with a child, not with any adult," he said of the photographer. "We're talking about a 5-year-old."
Williams alleges that the photographer was recording a child. He goes on to say that the photographer did not get in an altercations with Williams.
"Lie 1," he said. "Lie 2, clearly is she said Suge, too, but she didn't have the altercation with that person either."
The incident began when Knight and Williams were walking out of a studio, came across the photographer and began chasing the woman down an alley, said Beverly Hills police Sgt. Max Subin. Williams "forcibly" grabbed the women's camera, where she then sustained minor injuries.
Knight made headlines in August as the Black Kapital Records CEO was shot at a VMA pre-party in Los Angeles. He was shot twice, once in the stomach and another in the arm, TMZ reported. Suge was taken to a local hospital and has since been doing fine.
"So when they took me into the precinct — Step 1 — get me to blame Suge, that's not happening," Williams continued to tell TMZ this morning. "I'd rather take it then that, don't be silly."
