MTV Star Defends New Series 'Slednecks' And Teases Series Premiere
MTV's newest docu-series Slednecks premieres tonight at 10 p.m. and it's going to be a show to remember. The Alaska-based series is full of wild and crazy friends who reside in the heart of Alaska. Amber, one of the show's cast members, is defending the new show and teasing this week's episode.
According to MTV, Slednecks is a new weekly series that will follow "outdoor tough" friends that live in Wasilla, Alaska. In addition to friendship drama that surrounds the group of 11 friends and working in the elements, the cast will deal with the craziness and wilderness that surrounds them in their glacial playground.
"You live your life, you have a great time and you don't look back," Amber exclusively told TV Line about her group's life philosophy. "When you're in the moment, you're just in the moment. Sometimes, though, you do look back and think, 'OK, wow, I did that.'"
Like many of the reality-based series that have come before them, the Slednecks crew is wild and therefore they are already being scrutinized for their life choices. Think Jersey Shore in the mountains mixed with Laguna Beach drama. It's reality gold, but that brings a lot of critics, which Amber says she is ready for.
"We have fun and do crazy stuff, but honestly, who doesn't like to have fun and do crazy stuff? We all love to do that kind of thing. We're representing our own selves, constantly sharing our beautiful state with everyone else. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but for the most part, it's just going to be fun," she told the publication.
When the trailer for the new series was released, MTV described the hilarious show saying, "you'll meet a group of young troublemakers who get their kicks staring down bears, ice-fishing in bikinis and, when they're feeling particularly feisty, snowboarding in the buff. Driving alongside a sprinting moose might seem a bit unusual to you, but hey, when you've got frost coursing through your veins, it's just a typical Saturday afternoon."

Tune in for the Slednecks premiere tonight on MTV.
