5 Thoughts On Hayley Atwell's Peggy Carter In 'Marvel's Agent Carter' First TV Spot [WATCH]
Now that Halloween has passed, we are just a a couple of months away from January, Marvel has released the first official TV spot for Agent Carter. In the teaser trailer, Hayley Atwell makes her grand entrance as Peggy Carter as she attempts to save the world in the upcoming ABC spy/action drama.
As we mentioned here, Marvel first released the teaser through its official Twitter account, @AgentCarterTV, then onto their YouTube Channel. In the first season, Peggy tries to balances an office job with the Strategic Scientific Reserve while going on secret missions with Howard Stark. While Peggy attempts to pull off her juggling act, Stark has been framed for selling weapons on the black market.
Here are five things we notice about the TV spot:
1) It's A Period Piece
The wardrobe department has definitely taken viewers on a trip to the past. As we previously mentioned, to capture the '40s look, the wardrobe and make-up crew used a photo of Gene Tierney as reference. Carter's wig was designed to match her hairstyle.
2) It's A Classy Spy Novel Brought To Life
With that stocking tease, we get a sense Peggy is meant to be the sexy femme fatale, as well as the grieving widow who lost the love of her life. She can definitely pull off the dame look with that cheeky hat of hers.
3) How Come No Dialogue?
It's definitely nice to see Carter kicking butt, but we know there has to be a plot. We don't need a deep-voiced narrator telling us it's a "man's world." We want to hear dialogue from Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, wrote the Captain America: The Winter Soldier screenplay. Maybe that will be in the focus in the next teaser?
4) NYCC
MStars News was in attendance when the show's first footage made its New York Comic Con debut to a packed crowd. In the opening scene, we were introduced to Carter, Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper), and Edwin Jarvis (James D'Arcy). Anyone who saw the exclusive clip will still feel like they're seeing something new.
5) That's A Lot Of Action For 16 Seconds!
