Paul Wesley Talks His 'The Vampire Diaries' Season Six Directorial Return, Plus Midseason Finale Spoilers
The Vampire Diaries star, Paul Wesley, is returning for another directorial stint on the vampire-centered series this season. The 32-year-old actor is teasing his upcoming episode from season six of the CW show, plus we've got a serious midseason finale spoiler.
Paul is best known for his role as Stefan Salvatore on The Vampire Diaries, but that isn't all he does on the show. The Fallen actor has previously directed an episode in season five of the series and he is back for another round behind the camera this season.
On Oct. 28, the star Instagrammed a photo teasing his directorial return saying, "Boasting. It's that time of year again," with a picture of a script with his name as the director on it. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paul will be directing the 11th episode this season titled, "Woke Up With a Monster."
"It's something I've always wanted to do every since I started acting," Paul told The Hollywood Reporter when he first directed for the series last year. "I've always really respected directors. As much as I was interested in acting, whenever I watched a film it was always the directing that really stood out to me."
"Woke Up With a Monster," is set to air when The Vampire Diaries returns from its midseason hiatus in January 2015, THR said.
As for the midseason finale, we've got some news about that too. When the midseason finale airs, there will be some familiar friendships on screen. The BFF trio of Bonnie (played by Kat Graham), Caroline (played by Candice Accola) and Elena (played by Nina Dobrev) will be reunited... well, sort of. TV Guide reported that the friends of Mystic Falls will be together again in the upcoming episode, but in flashback form.
In the flashback, Bonnie, Caroline and Elena will return to their high school days set during the show's first season circa 2009. "The scene will feature a big holiday gathering, and since we were on hand for the filming, we can promise an impressively festive set," TV Guide reported.
What are you looking forward to most, Paul's second appearance as director or the high school reunion flashback?
