Rihanna Cries On Interview With Oprah Over Chris Brown: 'Everyone Says He's A Monster', She Was Concerned

Rihanna cried over Chris Brown as she spilled her heart on an interview with Oprah that will air on August 19, 2012.   Ex-boyfriend Brown and Rihanna dated back in 2009 when things turned ugly and Brown assaulted her.  

Their private lives became the main topic in headlines as Brown was charged 1 year of probation and community service. The two who were deemed "best friends" in Rihanna's words were suddenly split apart.

In front of Oprah, Rihanna tearfully spoke about the past which has left a deep mark on her heart.  "I lost my best friend.  Like everything I knew was switched. Switched in a night. And I couldn't control that. So I had to deal with that, and that's not easy for me to understand or interpret. And it's not easy to interpret on camera, not with the world watching."

After a few years, Rihanna can finally share what she really felt during that hard time.

Brown's image became negatively tainted by the media for what he's done to Rihanna, however the pop star still protected his image.  Rihanna's approach was to never bash Brown, but instead, she was "more concerned about him".

"I felt protective," she admitted."I felt like the only person they hate right now is him. It was a weird confusing space to be in because to be as angry and as angry and as hurt and betrayed, I just felt like he made that mistake because he needed help, and who's gonna help him? Nobody's gonna say he needs help. Everybody's gonna say he's a monster without looking at the source. I was more concerned about him. "

The bad girl image was shed for a moment in the interview as she spoke about her lost love.  Years ago when the incident had happened, a few of Rihanna's songs were filled with anger and revenge.  According to the teaser video of the interview, it appears that the pop diva had forgiven the "monster".

Rumors have been flying lately that Rihanna and Brown are getting close again and sources reveal that the two still care for each other.
