Rihanna’s Back On Instagram After Six Month Hiatus!
Rih Rih's back on Instagram! Early this morning, the songstress posted an upside down photo of her face with caption: "Hellurrr #badgalback"
According to CNN, Rihanna's relationship with Instagram went sour in May after she posted a topless photo of herself from the cover of a French magazine, breaching the app's terms of use. MTV News reported back in May that her account might have been flagged for its content. A week prior to the deactivation of her Instagram account, she went on a posting spree, sharing photos from her Lui magazine cover spread, which included her in both topless and bottomless poses. A short while after posting her topless cover shot on Instagram, she deleted the photo and directed fans to Twitter instead, to see the image. That's one sign that she may have been flagged for sharing inappropriate content on the social media site. Though Rihanna's Instagram has been reactivated, photos from her Lui magazine spread are still gone.
Rihanna's feed, one of the most popular and controversial celebrity accounts on Instagram, went silent for nearly six months this year, leaving her more than 12 million followers in the dark. Without Rihanna's sexy, rated-R photos and hilarious and highly inappropriate social commentary, Instagram just wasn't the same. Her sudden reappearance prompted a torrent of likes and tens of thousands of comments, many of them celebrating her return.
Rihanna and Instagram appear to have made up, as suggested by the second picture she shared today. The photo features Rih Rih in cartoon form, holding hands with the Instagram logo, which is blowing a kiss at her. She captioned the shot: "#RIHunited #badgalback @instagRam"
Instagram also seemed happy to have her back, announcing her return in a celebratory tweet, which Rihanna was gracious enough to retweet.
