Eminem vs. Taylor Swift: New Album '1989' To Out-Sell 'The Eminem Show,' Biggest Sales Week Since 2002? Will 'Shady XV' Release Overpower? [TOUR DATES]

Fun fact - in 2002, rapper Eminem experienced the biggest album sales week (ever). Reports confirm that The Eminem Show garnered approximately 1.322 million purchases in the first week alone.

But watch out, Slim Shady - country-pop sweetheart Taylor Swift is about to break that record!

The 24-year-old songstress' new album 1989 hit stores on October 27 via Big Machine Records. Fans went absolutely crazy. According to The Hollywood Reporter, "industry forecasters" predict that Swift's fifth studio album could sell well over three million copies through Sunday (November 2). The official "debut tracking week" numbers aren't in yet, but it'll be a close one...

Already, 1989 is close to surpassing opening sales for Britney Spears' hit 2000 record, Oops!... I Did It Again. Therefore, Swift would break the one-week sales record for an album released by a woman.

Meanwhile, the "Shake It Off" beauty just announced a world tour promoting the new album:
