Check Out The Off-screen CMA Awards Moments You Didn't See, Plus The CMA After Party [VIDEO]
Last night the 2014 CMA Awards aired on ABC and there were some amazing moments. Hosts Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley started the night off with jokes and each performed some of their amazing hits for fans to enjoy. But, what happened when the cameras weren't rolling? Here are some of the best moments you didn't see and a sneak peek at the CMA after party.
One of the best moments of the night was when Luke Bryan won the Entertainer of the Year award, but he was even more excited about meeting the one and only, Garth Brooks, who presented him with the award. We all saw them hug on stage, but once the cameras were off, they hugged it out even more.
People reported that "the two superstars had a lengthy and clearly even more heartfelt embrace after cameras turned away." Luke wasn't the only Garth fan in the audience during the show. Garth's return to the CMA stage, (this was, after all, the first time in nine years that he performed at the award show), found the rowdy crowd belting out one of his most famous hits.
"The audience's loud, impromptu sing-along of "Friends in Low Places" happened as a video of vintage Garth played on the big screens during one of the commercial breaks," People revealed, and it was clearly proof that the legend still rocks.
Despite the fact that it was the Country Music Awards, pop singer Meghan Trainor was welcomed with praise and applause after her duet with Miranda Lambert. Almost every singer in attendance was star struck when they met the "All About That Bass" singer. According to the publication, Meghan got a picture with George Straight, Neil Perry (from The Band Perry) and Blake Shelton.
Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale was also in attendance last night and managed to take a picture with the 20-year-old singer. "This girl is beyond sweet," Lucy wrote on her Instagram account about the singer.
"Follow Your Arrow" singer Kacey Musgraves rocked a giant beehive style 'do when she hit the red carpet on Wednesday, but she owned it even if critics were making fun of her hairdo. "My hair is full of secrets," Kacey said while talking to E! News on the red carpet.
As for the CMA after party, it was full of fun as expected. Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood brought out their cover band and performed with Luke Bryan, according to People. The duo wore hilarious wigs and costumes, making their performance even more enjoyable. Check out the video below.
