'Marvel's Agent Carter' Casting: Bridget Regan Joins Hayley Atwell's Peggy Carter In ABC Spy Drama!

After presenting audiences with their first teaser trailer and first clip, Marvel has announced a new cast member joining Agent Carter. Actress Bridget Regan teams-up with Hayley Atwell's Peggy Carter  as she attempts to save the world in the upcoming ABC spy/action drama.

As we mentioned here,the show will revisit Carter immediately after the events of Captain America: The First Avenger. After returning home from WWII, Peggy tries to balances an office job with the Strategic Scientific Reserve while going on secret missions with Howard Stark. While Peggy attempts to pull off her juggling act, Stark has been framed for selling weapons on the black market.

As we previously reported, during the second season premiere of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Peggy came up with the idea of the law enforcement agency after discovering a hidden treasure of alien artifacts at a Hydra base. We know that she and Howard Stark (Cooper) are destined to become the founding fathers of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Marvel announced the John Wick starlet joining the cast as Dottie. Moving in next to Peggy (Atwell), Dottie is a a small-town girl from Iowa who'll have a huge impact on the life of Agent Carter.

Jeph Loeb, Marvel's Head of Television, describes how the Jane the Virgin actress "brings the nuance and complexity of Dottie to life in a way that leaves no doubt as to her importance to Peggy."

In our recent recap of White Collar's final sixth season, Regan played Rebecca, the master thief who got into Neal Caffrey (Matt Bomer)'s heart and poisoned Mozzie (Willie Garson). Rebecca didn't want to return to prison, so she stole a guard's gun and got shot in return. Nealclosed her eyes as she lied dead on the street.

Update:

According to Comingsoon, actor Costa Ronin is also joining the cast as Anton Vanko, the father of super villain Ivan Vanko (Whip-Lash), played by Mickey Rourke in Iron Man 2.

"Fans have wanted to learn more about Anton Vanko since he was first mentioned in Iron Man 2 and we're happy to deliver with Costa's terrific performance in Marvel's Agent Carter," states Loeb.

Marvel's Agent Carter will premiere during the mid-break of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D on January 6, 2015. Readers, are you excited to see Bridget Regan on the show?
