Comedy Central star Daniel Tosh has hilariously taken ESPN to task for appropriating his well-known 'Web Redemption' segment for a new Sportscenter bit - in response he released his own 'Sports Science' parody.

In ESPN's new 'Awesome Video Segment', they arranged for tripping ice skating Canadian national anthem singer Mark Donnelly to 'redeem' himself; the idea of 'are you ready to give it another shot' being a device Tosh has made extensive use of in his show.

Deadspin posted the stinging takedown from last night's Tosh.0, where Tosh delivered a string of criticisms via 'Sports Science.0', a parody of the sports network's 'Sports Science' segment.

Meanwhile TMZ reported that Tosh had "declared WAR" on ESPN for stealing his bit. Highlights of his takedown - which lambasted the network's anchors and some of their biggest names - include:

"On ESPN's flagship show Sportscenter, each highlights lasts an average of 45 seconds, and contains an astonishing 217 unfunny forced puns."

"Sportscenter breaks down like this: 60% Manziel gossip, 39% praising LeBron for buying a giant brits filter to clean Lake Erie, 72% jerking off the SEC, and 41% explaining away whatever crime an NFL player committed that hour."

"Former athletes account for almost one-third of ESPN personalities, and with a grammatical error every fifth word, a normal segment contains nearly 400 examples of flawed syntax."

"Chris Berman's '2 Minute Drill' segment runs, on average, five minutes and 11 seconds... that's five minutes and 11 seconds longer than anyone outside of Buffalo wants to hear Chris Berman gargle on all seven of his chins."

"For a measly $5.64 billion, ESPN won the broadcasting rights to the college football playoffs for the next 12 years. zero dollars of that will go to the athletes; ESPN profits off kids playing football, which means they support kids getting brain damage. Which means ESPN wants children to die, or, to put it in scientific terms, ESPN loves killing kids. Science."

At the end of the segment, Tosh makes sure to not burn all of his ESPN bridges, saying that it wasn't aimed at "Mike and Mike, Simmons, Beadle, PTI, Le Batard".

What do you think, did ESPN rip off Daniel Tosh? And were his criticisms of ESPN and Sportscenter on point?
