Katie Holmes Prepared First Thanksgiving Dinner! Tells 'The Late Show With David Letterman' Her Action Plan For The Holiday
Wait, what? Celebrities actually cook themselves?
Katie Holmes will be taking on the role of turkey duty this Thanksgiving for the first time, the 35-year-old actress told The Late Show with David Letterman Tuesday, Nov. 11.
"I'm very excited because I'm the baby of five, and I've been using that for a long time," she told Letterman of getting out of certain duties, being the youngest. "But this year I'm taking responsibility and my mother's going to teach me how to make a turkey."
No reports yet if her ex-husband Tom Cruise will be joining her and daughter Suri for the holiday. The couple divorced two years ago, and have one daughter, Suri Cruise, 8.
"I am going to pull the gizzards out," she joked with the host. "I went with 15 pounds, I have already ordered it."
It's clear that this is the first Thanksgiving meal as a cook for the Dawsons Creek alumna, as she's only having around six people at her Thanksgiving dinner!
Although her estimate on the size of the turkey is a bit off, she'll have all the yummy extras for dinner!
"Stuffing, which I'm really excited about," she gushed. "My mom's recipe."
Which she, again, has never made and guessed on the "Sage I know, salt and pepper, breadcrumbs?"
Turkey dinner hasn't been the only thing on this busy mom's plate — pun intended. She's starring in Miss Meadows a thriller/drama to be released Nov. 14; Mania Days, which she just completed with Luke Kirby; and her film Woman in Gold is in post-production.
