Watch Entire 'The Hobbit' Trilogy Franchise On December 15 - Select IMAX Theaters To Screen 'An Unexpected Journey,' 'Desolation Of Smaug' & 'Battle Of The Five Armies' Back-To-Back
If you're like most moviegoers out there, you can't wait to see the final installment of Peter Jackson's The Hobbit trilogy, The Battle of the Five Armies, which hits theaters Dec. 17, 2014. Luckily for you, we've discovered a way to see the film 2 days early on Dec. 15, but there's a pretty amazing catch: it'll premiere after a back-to-back screening on the first two franchise films, An Unexpected Journey and The Desolation of Smaug! That's right; the entire trilogy will be in select IMAX theaters on Dec. 15, 2014!

As Slash Film points out, Warner Bros. took this approach wit the Lord of the Rings trilogy when Return of the King premiered. This time around, select IMAX theaters will screen Hobbit movie marathons in a very special event leading up to the "Defining Chapter" of Jackson's franchise.
This news broke on Tolkien fan website TheOneRing.net, detailing the especial event.
"Movie theaters around the U.S. will be hosting a Hobbit Trilogy marathon on Monday, December 15th. The trilogy is to be shown in IMAX, and tickets go on sale Friday, November 14th," the website reports. "Tentative showtimes are: An Unexpected Journey theatrical edition) at 1:00 p.m., The Desolation of Smaug (theatrical edition) at 4:05 p.m., and The Battle of the Five Armies at 7:00 p.m.. Check with your local theater to find out if they'll be participating and for pricing information."
