Green Day Angry Birds: Rockers Debut New Song "Troublemaker" in Facebook Series
Ready to see the punk rockers of Green Day appear in Angry Bird form? Well, here's your chance. The boys of Green Day have teamed up with the makers of the "Angry Birds Friends" video game series, which has released an edition that features customized Green Day "pig" characters,10 never-before-seen levels, and the chance to unlock a new single off of Green Day's upcoming album "¡Uno!" entitled "Troublemaker."
Green Day's teaming up with Rovio Entertainment is the first of its kind - Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tre Cool are the first musicians to be featured in the popular puzzle-themed video game (which is available exclusively on Facebook). Rumors have it that Kiss bassist and marketing mogul Gene Simmons had wanted his band to form a partnership with the very successful game franchise. More information on the Green Day-themed Angry Birds edition is available on the Angry Birds Twitter page, and updates for the game will be available throughout the fall.
Along with "Troublemaker," the Green Day Angry Birds series features the already released debut single "Oh Love." "¡Uno!," the first album of Green Day's highly anticipated trilogy, will be released on Sept. 25.
About the Green Day/Angry Birds collaboration, front man Armstrong said, "We're all fans of Angry Birds," Armstrong said in a statement. "It's such an addictive game that when we first started playing we couldn't stop. Go Team Green!"
