Brian Hoyer, Johnny Manziel, Tom Brady & Ryan Mallett: Cleveland Browns- Give Me New NFL Contract After I Win "Brady Bowl" Against Houston Texans

Brian Hoyer spent years trying to dislodge Tom Brady from his starting QB role for the New England Patriots, but like Ryan Mallett, he failed to move him from his position. Hoyer is now happy with the Cleveland Browns, beating out Johnny Manziel, and will now face Mallett, who is with the Houston Texans. Many are labelling this the "Brady Bowl", with fans wondering which backup QB learned more under his guidance. Hoyer has insisted he respects Mallett, but also said he just wants to be a winner, and a winner with a new mega-contract in the NFL.

Hoyer explained, saying, "I can't do it. But those were some of the best times of my career. The quarterback position is so unique in the NFL. Only one of us could play and only one of us could be the backup (to Tom Brady). We knew we weren't going to be playing unless Tom was hurt. You can compete, but you also know you're going to be in a room with a guy for 12 hours a day for six months of the year so you'd better get along and make it enjoyable, and I think we did that."

He concluded, "For me it was about trying to learn as much as I possibly could. I wouldn't be the player today if I had not been around Tom and around Billy. I give those two so much credit for how I've progressed in the NFL. I think I'm a far better NFL quarterback than I was in college because of the time I spent with those guys, learning how to do things the right way."

Now both of Brady's backups are desperate to show what they learned from Tom, and they want to prove that they're more than capable of taking their teams to the top. If Hoyer's good form continues, then perhaps he will get a contract, albeit smaller than Brady's, one that his former leader would be proud of.
