You can start planning your parties now, because MTV have just dropped the dates of two of the biggest events on the 2015 calendar. As per MTV's announcement today, the MTV Movie Awards will take place on Sunday April 12 next year, while the MTV VMAs will land a few months later on August 30. Let the guessing games as to who will be performing begin.

As hitfix.com report, the big winner of this year's Movie Awards was The Hunger Games - Catching Fire, next year will see plenty of competition from a packed schedule of massive movies, from Guardians of the Galaxy to The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, Gone Girl and Interstellar to The Hunger Games - Mockingjay: Part One and Dawn of the Planet Of The Apes, there's plenty of fun to be had. And with all the villains he's played in the past 12 months, you'd have to hope that Benedict Cumberbatch gets a nod.

After an amazing VMAs show this year - the show basically upped the ante for every and all awards show for the rest of the season - producers and fans will be looking to see whether or not they can top the slew of memorable appearances in 2014. Who can forget that Ariana Grande, Jessie J and Nicki Minaj team up on "Bang Bang", Beyonce's epic medley, Taylor Swift shaking it off, Rita Ora, Iggy Azalea and Sam Smith all announcing themselves to the world, Riff Raff and Katy Perry's red carpet entrance, Blue Ivy dancing, Ed Sheeran goofing off, and Miley Cyrus getting her homeless buddy Jesse Helt to accept her award?

With Taylor, Iggy Azalea, Azealia Banks and Ariana Grande all dominating this year, who knows what 2015 will have in store. If nothing else Nicki Minaj is probably hoping that her dress will stay on next year, while Zac Efron will be trying his hardest to go back-to-back with best shirtless scene after his turn as a frat legend in Neighbors
