'LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham' Features Batgirl, Killer Croc, Bane, & Krypto In "Official Launch" Trailer! [WATCH]
Featuring the popular superheroes and super villains of the DC Comics Universe, LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham has announced the latest round of characters for the highly anticipated videogame. Joining the Justice League against Superman's deadliest enemy, Brainiac, get ready to play as Batgirl, Bane, Killer Croc, and Krypto the superdog.
As we previously mentioned, the game centers on Brainiac, who has set his sights on our planet as his ultimate prize. The maniacal genius uses his advanced nanotechnology to claim Earth as his own toy to play with. With the Earth in danger, it looks like the Legion of Doom, which includes the Joker and Lex Luthor (Clancy Brown reprising his role), and the Super-Friends have to team-up against the intergalactic warlord.
We previously reported that there is a special bonus level that pays tribute to the Batman '66 TV series starring Adam West and Burt Ward. Gamers get a chance to play as the upbeat crime-fighting heroes while West's voiceover narration guides them against the show's colorful baddies.
In the footage, we get to see what Brainiac's powers are able to do to the heroes and villains. In the game, Batman turns against the sidekick, Robin, before he snaps out of Brainiac's possession. Things start to get a little worse when a hypnotized and evil Superman grows to immense size and switches sides. Not only do gamers fight the bad guys, good guys will be fighting each other as well.
Interestingly, the game takes us to different worlds, from earth to outer-space, including the Lantern's home planet OA. While using the Bat-plane, the Dark Knight is able to fly around and dodge incoming missiles. The Lanterns seem to be using their power rings inside Superman's Fortress of Solitude.
