Tony Romo, Jason Witten & Dez Bryant: Will Dallas Cowboys Hand Out New NFL Contracts If Stars Win Super Bowl?
The Dallas Cowboys are rested, and they're ready to continue their attack on the NFL. They're hoping they can win the Super Bowl, despite many believing they had no chance. Will the Cowboys hand out new contracts to star players like Tony Romo, Jason Witten and Dez Bryant if they were to do the unthinkable and lift the trophy? Some fans want Romo to leave, but others want to continue to work with him, and star player Witten believes he's the best man for the job, sharing his desire to work with Romo, and to lift a championship together.
Speaking of his relationship with Romo, he explained, saying, "It was unique in how that all worked. Tony and I were literally on the same shuttle bus to our rookie minicamp in 2003. To know that our careers played out the way they have, I don't think anybody would've imagined that. 'Man, not only can he wow you but he can also go down and make the right decisions and keep drives alive and lead his team."
He believes that he and Romo can win the Super Bowl together, explaining, "It means everything. When you think about my career and the catches and the yards and the group that I've been able to join it's definitely a humbling experience and an honor to be mentioned with some of those great Hall of Fame players, but you play to compete for championships. I think the greatest really way to evaluate football players and great football players is to see how they play in big moments. For me and Tony as well, it's competing for a championship. I take a lot of pride in that. It's my motivation every day."
Will this Cowboys team have what it takes to go all the way, and perhaps more importantly, will this trio stick around for years to come?
