Charles Manson Gets Marriage License With Afton Elaine Burton, Couple To Marry Inside Prison
Wow! The notorious serial killer, Charles Manson, 80, has been granted a marriage license to twenty-six year old Afton Elaine Burton, who has spent nine years working to make it official.
"Y'all can know that it's true," Burton told the Associated Press. "It's going to happen." She added, "I love him. I'm with him. There's all kind of things."
This is not the first go-around of prison marriage for Manson. Between prison sentences, he married a hospital waitress named Rosalie Jean Willis in 1995. They had a son, Charles Manson Jr., who sadly committed suicide in the 90's. A year after his marriage to Willis, he married a prostitute named Leona Rae "Candy" Stevens and had a second son.
According to the AP, Manson and Burton applied for their marriage license on Nov. 7, but have yet to set a date. However, he says that he will be married next month in Corcoran State Prison, which is between Bakersfield and Fresno, California. He added that the two would most likely marry with around 10 guests, from outside the prison, inside an inmate visiting room.
Around a year ago, the Sharon Tate killer told Rolling Stone that his wedding was untrue, "That's a bunch of garbage," he said. "That's trash. We're playing that for public consumption."
When the AP asked Burton about the past interview she said, "None of that's true," adding that they are just waiting for the paperwork.
Manson led the Manson Family, a commune that rose in the California desert back in the 60's. In the 70's, he was convicted of conspiracy in committing seven murders, including that of actress Sharon Tate.
