'X-Men Apocalypse' Jean Grey Cyclops Casting Rumors, Spoilers, Plot Details - Chloe Moretz, Elle Fanning Or Hailee Steinfeld As Young Famke Janssen?
Plot details around the upcoming Bryan Singer-directed 2016 Days of Future Past follow-up, X-Men Apocalypse, can mainly be taken from sparse interviews with the director, producer Simon Kinberg, or just the Marvel comics the story is based on. That said, we know that we need some characters to be re-cast from the original film trilogy, with younger stars. Namely, Jean Grey and Cyclops, originally played by Famke Janssen and James Marsden, are to be replaced and some new rumors this week suggests a bunch of rising stars to take their respective places.
The latest casting rumors (via The Wrap) around Jean Grey have some great young actresses in the short list for the role. As you can tell from the main image of this article, Fox is reportedly eyeing Chloe Grace Moretz, Elle Fanning, and Hailee Steinfeld for this important role! All three stars have some acclaim under their belt, making us think that Grey will have a much more important role than Cyclops.
As Slash Film points out, the statement about Cyclops worth in the film versus Grey isn't a jab at the actors up for the role of Scott Summers, it's just a bit obvious since the actresses are more noteworthy than the actors. That said, we're also pretty excited about the short list for Cyclops!
Rumors point to Ben Hardy (East Enders), Charlie Rowe (Never Let Me Go, Red Band Society) and Timothee Chalamet (Interstellar) as the possible Cyclops actors.
