'Today Show' Natalie Morales, Willie Geist NOT Fired From Show [DETAILS]
Reports have come straight from CNN that Today show stars Natalie Morales and Willie Geist have not been fired from the morning talk show.
Gossip sites have assumed the two co-hosts have been canned as NBC made the alarming decision to fire new general manager of Today, Jamie Horowitz.
Speculation was brought on even more as Today has taken a back seat to the first place morning talk show ABC's Good Morning America. But as CNN reports, there is some truth to the matter; NBC is switching things up a bit to get back to their first-place position.
Us Weekly reported today (Nov. 19) that Natalie Morales and Willie Geist were told they were fired from the Today show amidst a massive shake-up at NBC.
"Were recently told they were fired," an NBC source told the gossip mag. Morales, 42, has been on the show for three years and was rumored to be replaced by Tamron Hall or Josh Elliott.
Morales was backed up by NBC News president Deborah Turness who denied the rumors, "NBC's Today has the best anchor team in morning television. The entire Today show anchor team – Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker, Natalie Morales, Willie Geist, Carson Daly, Tamron Hall, Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb – are incredibly talented, valued and have our support," Turness said.
"In response to the false rumors that have been circulated about our anchor team, NBC wants to be absolutely clear: The rumors are wrong – period. This is the team we are committed to. And this is the team that our viewers turn to in the morning."
