'X-Men: Apocalypse' Casting Rumors: Chloe Moretz, Elle Fanning Possible Jean Grey Actresses
X-Men: Apocalypse is still more than a year away, but that has not stopped fans from speculating about the cast or imagining who could play their favorite characters in the movie. The latest rumors and reports have linked Chloe Moretz to the role of Jean Grey and even mention a few names for Cyclops.
The Wrap reports several actors and actresses are being considered for the roles of Young Jean Grey and Young Cyclops in the movie, which is set in the 1980s. The report says Moretz (of Kick-Ass fame) and Elle Fanning (Maleficent) have met with director Bryan Singer recently but no official offers have been made and several other names are still in play. One of those names is Academy Award-nominated actress Hailee Steinfeld.
As for Cyclops, The Wrap reports three actors have broken into the front of the pack. Ben Hardy (Eastenders), Charlie Rowe (Red Band Society) and Timothee Chalamet (Homeland) are the three candidates as of now.
The Wrap also reported last month that 20th Century Fox has made Tom Hardy an offer to play Apocalypse in the next film in the franchise. The deal is nowhere close to done, and Hardy has also reportedly received offers from Marvel to star in Doctor Strange and DC for a role in Suicide Squad.
Hardy of course played a famous DC villain when he took on the role of Bane in The Dark Knight Rises.
