"You have to earn the right to get up there. Teams and clubs will always go through difficult spells. If you look at Borussia Dortmund for example they beat Monchengladbach to come out of the bottom three," Villa coach Paul Lambert said about his team's journey from the bottom of the standings. "Nobody would believe that, how has that happened because if you look at the Champions League and they are absolutely flying. Teams have little ropey times they will come through. I think every football management job is hard, you don't have success all the time, it is like a bubble which appears now and again, then it goes away and you don't see it for a few years."
Meanwhile, Southampton is looking more and more of a scary opponent, especially with the possibilities of returning players Dušan Tadić, Morgan Schneiderlin, and Steven Davis.
"We know that Morgan came back with a groin injury from the France national team," coach Ronald Koeman said. "He didn't train Friday. He's doubtful. Steven Davis is as well for this Monday, but we still have two or three days to finally make a decision. We have to wait. If we had to play Saturday they can't play but we have the game on Monday and that gives us two more days."
