CSI: Crime Scene Investigation has said goodbye to numerous veteran team members over the years and now George Eads is leaving the hit crime series. After 15 seasons on the show, the actor who plays Nick Stokes is making a change.

TV Guide exclusively reported that Eads would be leaving the series after its current season (season 15) comes to an end. Eads previously took a leave of absence from the series last season, but returned for the current series. He is the last remaining original cast member on the show.

"Sources say Eads' departure was amicable and that his character's exit will be connected to the resolution of the Gig Harbor Killer case. However, it remains unclear exactly how his character will be written out of the series," TV Guide reported. Eads has yet to make a statement about his departures from the series.

According to the publication, this isn't the first time that Eads wasn't on the show. In 2004 both Jorja Fox (who currently on the show) and Eads were fired for a brief amount of time after they failed to show up to set.

The 47-year-old actor is the most recent departure from the long-running series, which has already lost William Petersen (who played Gil Grissom), Gary Dourdan (who played Warrick Brown), Marg Helgenberger (who played Catherine Willows) and Paul Guilfoyle (who played Captain Jim Brass) from the original cast.

Although the crime series will be losing one of its most memorable characters at after this year, at least we have this season. Plus, season 15 includes Saved By the Bell alum Mark-Paul Gosselaar, who has already made his CSI debut this month. Gosselaar is playing a set of evil twins, but the biggest twist won't be discovered until the actual serial killer out of two the brothers is revealed.

"We just shot my third episode [airing in early 2015] where I'm playing scenes opposite myself, so that was fun though draining. But I never take my characters home," Gosselaar told TV Guide earlier this month.
