MAD Magazine's 2014 Holiday Gift Guide: MAD's Alfred E Neuman Spoofs Santa Claus!
With Thanksgiving just around the corner and the Christmas season coming up, we have a special holiday gift guide for readers. For 2014's season's greetings, MAD Magazine's very own Alfred E. Neuman is coming down the chimney as Santa Claus, with its own special gift
We couldn't contain ourselves while reading MAD magazine's hilarious pieces, "The 20 Dumbest People, Events, and Things featuring Miley Cyrus," and "Kim & Kanye In... Monster Marriage!" MAD has been a laugh-riot, especially with its cartoons, its live-action variety show, and Spy vs. Spy.
MStars News had a blast at the recently held New York Comic Con, but our convention visit was ten times better because we had a chance to speak with Editor-in-Chief, John Ficarra. We couldn't keep a straight face as Ficarra discussed the issue #530. Ficarra dived into the interview, speaking about the issues' 6-page spread of Orange Is The New Black, its hilarious TMZ parody, and a special 2015 Hobbit calendar.
When we asked what made Neuman such a long-lasting pop icon, Ficarra responded, "As for why Alfred is popular, that's a good question!...It's a face that instantly recognizable. It's an odd face when you look at it. We're not sure why he works but he does work. He keeps showing up on the magazine covers."
Now Alfred is at it again, spoofing jolly old Saint Nick. We can't stop ourselves from cracking up as Alfred puts on the fake white beard and the bright red costume. MAD is offering a special subscription for the holiday season.
Fo one year, readers can sign up for 6 wise-cracking issues. For a two-year subscription, the issues are doubled. And with a three year subscription, readers will get a free gift of Alfred as Uncle Sam.
Get ready for a sweet laugh-fest from MAD's upcoming The 20 Dumbest People, Events and Things of 2014. Mad Magazine issue #531 officially hits newsstands on December 16 and will be available via iPad on December 5th.
