‘The Mindy Project’ Recap: “How To Lose A Mom In Ten Days” Reveals An Awkward Double Date And A New Office Mate

This week's episode of The Mindy Project revolves around Danny's mom Annette. "How to Lose a Mom in Ten Days," reveals Morgan's new office situation and Annette's return to the dating world.

The episode begins with Mindy calling Danny into a pretty bath. The only way to get him to join her is by saying that Scarface took baths. As the couple is getting romantic in the tub, Annette comes into Danny's apartment without telling anyone. When she comes into the bathroom, Mindy ducks under the water the same way Monica from Friends hide in the tub with Chandler.

When Mindy comes up for air she is pissed at Danny and then they hear Annette say goodbye to both of them, since she wasn't fooled by their tricks. Later that night Mindy and Danny talk about Annette needing boundaries, but Danny will never tell his mom that. When they go to bed Mindy finds a note that tells her it's a sin to have sex because they aren't married. Seriously Annette is the best!

At work Jeremy is sucking up to an older doctor named Dr. Ludrow because when he retires he wants his patients for their practice. Meanwhile Morgan announces to the whole office that Tamara dumped him and no one is surprised. Morgan then decides to move into Peter's office and he isn't pleased.

As Mindy is trying to figure out the Annette situation, Peter suggests that she finds her a boyfriend to keep her mind off of them and allow Danny and Mindy to finally get some time together. Mindy then decides to set Annette up with Dr. Ludrow and she is really excited. Mindy even dresses her as a mini Mindy for the big night. The only problem is Danny doesn't know.

When Danny walks in and sees his mom dressed as a sexy mama, he freaks out. Even though he is not happy about it, Annette goes on the date and has a wonderful time. She leaves Mindy a message about another date that she has on Sunday and Mindy is happy that she fixed her problem.

As Morgan is staring at Peter in their joint office, Peter decides to create an online profile for Morgan to get him off his back. He wants to help him get back into the dating game. At the same time Mindy checks in with Dr. Ludrow and he says that Annette isn't returning his calls. When Mindy gets back to her office Morgan and Peter show her his matches and one of them is Annette!

Mindy goes straight to Annette's house and asks her what is happening and she reveals that she liked her date so much that she wants to see what else is out there. So, in order to trick her into not dating creepy people off the Internet she pays Morgan to go out with Annette and scare her away from dating others.

What Mindy didn't see coming is that Morgan and Annette get along really well and they start to really date. After Mindy figures out that Annette wants to keep dating Morgan she hunts him down and finds him with Danny playing catch like dad's do with their sons. Morgan tells Danny that he is dating his mom and he loses it.

Even though Morgan is depressed about his dating life, Mindy is not happy with him. The next night Danny has an intervention for his mom, but Morgan shows up and they are very touchy, which makes Danny even madder. When Danny pulls his mom outside she reveals that she could have dated in the past but she didn't because she didn't want there to be any chance of someone else hurting Danny and his brother. Danny is so touched that he tells his mom that she is a saint, but the real kind... not like Mother Theresa.

Meanwhile Mindy and Morgan have a heart-to-heart about their previous conversations and Mindy admits that she was wrong and he can do better than Tamara. Just then Tamara comes into the restaurant and starts hitting Mindy with a baguette. She asks Morgan to take her back and when he says no, she tells both of them that they are now her newest enemies.

Back at the office Dr. Ludrow is now dating Annette again and he is happy, but unfortunately he doesn't want to retire anymore so Jeremy isn't too pleased with Mindy, but he will get over it.

In the final moments, Mindy and Danny are back in to tub together when Annette yells at them. She asks them if they want food and Mindy says, yes, because she loves food. It looks like this arrangement might work out after all.
