Rihanna and Robert Pattinson: Singer Sends 'Twilight' Star 'Sexy, Flirty' Texts [POLL]

Since Robert Pattinson broke up with "Twilight" co-star Kristen Stewart after her highly publicized affair with "Snow White and the Hunstman" director Rupert Sanders, rumors of celebrity females flocking to the newly single vampire-esque heartthrob have hit social media sites like crazy. The latest pop star supposedly hooked on the "pursuit of R-Patz" bandwagon - hip hop songstress Rihanna.

According to a source close to the "Where Have You Been" singer who spoke to OK! Magazine, "They've met several times at award bashes over the years. RiRi thinks he's very cute, but nothing ever came of it because he was attached to Kristen - and it's not her style to steal someone else's man."

Now rumors have it that the two have been exchanging "sexy, funny" text messages.

"She got Rob's phone number from a mutual friend and has been sending him sexy, funny texts to cheer him up," the source continued to dish to OK! "At first, Rob thought someone Punk'd him. Eventually Rihanna convinced him she was for real, but Rob has been resisting her."

Even so, looks like Pattinson's close friends are pushing the "Cosmopolis" star to get back on his feet and take a dive back into the world of dating, so who knows if he'll find the perfect rebound with the wild and crazy Rihanna (well-known for her partying ways).

Although R-Patz's love life has been the center of Hollywood gossip since the Stewart-Sanders cheating scandal broke, Rihanna has had her fair share of recent relationship woes. The "We Found Love" star recently appeared on an episode of OWN's "Oprah's Next Chapter," where she tearfully opened up about her former relationship with singer Chris Brown. Rihanna was met with some backlash after stating:

"We've built a trust again. We love each other and we probably always will and that's not anything that we're gonna try to change. That's not something you can shut off if you've ever been in love. We've worked on it little by little. It's not easy. The main thing for me is that he's at peace."

(Considering Brown was charged with domestically abusing the "Umbrella" singer back in 2009).

As for a potential Rihanna-Pattinson hookup, RiRi's inside source explains to OK!, "Rihanna would love to meet up with him. And Rob's friends keep telling him he has to start enjoying life again. What better person to help cheer him up than Rihanna?"
