'Pacific Rim 2' Spoilers, Plot Details, Script Rumors - Guillermo Del Toro Shares Cast Update On Charlie Day, Burn Gorman - Talks 'Justice League Dark' Movie News

Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro announced this week that Pacific Rim 2 would feature two more returning cast members in Charlie Day and Burn Gorman. The two represent the scientific portion of the film, full of information about the Kaiju and help spell out the plot for the audience. With the director also revealing earlier this year that the film will focus more on the mysteries of these creatures, it looks like Day and Gorman will play even bigger roles in 2017.

"Yes. It's quite a different movie from the first one in that, but I think that two of our main characters like in the first one are Burn and Charlie," he said in a recent interview with Collider, according to Gamma Squad. "They are really, really - I mean, honestly, they are probably the guys I have the most fun writing along with Hannibal Chau so just from a purely selfish drive, I like writing them. I love writing for Charlie and Burn. I mean, [Burn's] in Crimson Peak for that reason, because I love working with him. You're gonna get a lot of that, but the Kaijus are very different and you're gonna see a very different type of the robots I think. It's gonna be quite a different adventure."

In terms of the movie's plot, he added: "It's a few years after the first one. It's not an immediate follow-up. It is the world having been freed of Kaiju, what happens to the world after - what happens to the Jaeger technology once the Kaiju are not a threat. It's quite a jump."

One of del Toro's other movie projects received a big update this week, too! According to the filmmaker, the script for Justice League Dark is finished!
