'Game Of Thrones' Season 5 Starlet Maisie Williams, 'The Last Of Us' Movie Adaptation - Arya Stark Actress On Playing Ellie: "I Want To Do It!"
While Maisie Williams can next be seen in the upcoming 2015 season 5 episodes of HBO's hit series Game of Thrones as Arya Stark, perhaps the biggest news surrounding the young starlet is her possibly joining the cast of The Last of Us. Easily one of the biggest video games of 2013, and possibly ever, this post-apocalyptic survival horror game is getting the movie treatment from producer Sam Raimi, and casting speculation has mainly been around Williams. This week, she once again spoke about playing Ellie in the film and even announced that it's up to the studio now!
According to IGN, Williams revealed that no scripts have been completed, but she feels that "it's looking like, 'yes.'"
"There was a whole thing that went on Twitter [of fans suggesting me for the role]," the young actress said. "I didn't know a lot about [the game]. I Googled it. Ashley Johnson - who did Ellie's voice - [fans] asked her what she thought of me and she said, 'That's pretty much my dream.' I don't follow her but I was silently stalking her wondering what she thought of all this."
Once Williams got an American agent who said she could suggest roles she wanted, Maisie asked for this role, leading to meetings.
"I had a meeting with Sam Raimi and [game director] Neil Druckmann. And they said they'd love if you would moderate the panel at Comic-Con, but you'd need to watch the walk-through and know your s*** because there are massive fans of this and we wouldn't want it to go wrong," she said.
