Earlier this year we learned that Ron Howard and Tom Hanks would re-team for another Ban Brown adaptation of a Robert Langdon movie thriller in The Da Vinci Code sequel Inferno. While we know Hanks will reprise his role as Langdon, this week we heard a new casting rumor surrounding the character of Sienna Brooks from the Brown novel. According to new reports, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and most recently The Theory of Everything actress Felicity Jones is allegedly in early talks for the leading role!

Check out our previous coverage of the Inferno announcement, including news on the 2015 filming dates!

According to IGN, Felicity is up for the role of Brooks, a doctor tasked in helping Langdon recover from a case of amnesia in order to prevent a villainous man from releasing a global plague.

Deadline broke this news, announcing that Jones is currently the frontrunner for the female lead, though nothing has been confirmed. Apparently, Brooks is a doctor that helps Langdon recover his memories in the hopes of stopping the antagonist.

Jones is easily one of the young British actresses out there that has come to mind for a number of filmmakers. Her most recent role in The Theory of Everything has some Oscar buzz around her name, too. She also just wrapped filming on Autobahn from director Eran Creevy.

Brown over the summer took to his Facebook page to announce this news and his excitement.

"Thrilled to share the news that Sony Pictures and Imagine Entertainment have firmed an April start in Italy on Inferno! Tom Hanks will reprise his role as Robert Langdon," he said.
