It's official: Ed Sheeran is Spotify's most streamed artist of 2014! Sorry, Pharrell, while "Happy" was reportedly the most (internationally) streamed song, it looks like people couldn't get enough of the young British singer-songwriter's newest album, x. And Eminem, no hard feelings, right? After all, you did top the lists in the United States, which is still pretty good. And Katy Perry, you may have been the most streamed female of the year, but it wasn't enough to beat out Sheeran! Womp, womp, womp...

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sheeran was officially announced the streaming service's most-streamed act of 2014. X supposedly wracked in more than 860 million listens. The album hit worldwide with 430 million streams.

As the site's data shows, both Perry and Coldplay were announced as the biggest female and group streams of the year, and Iggy Azalea's "Fancy" was the most streamed song in the United States.

THR notes that "Spotify said more than seven billion hours of music was streamed this year by more than 50 million users. It will reward listeners this month by offering new U.S. users a premium, three-month membership for just 99 cents."

So, who else was behind Sheeran? Other than Eminem, it's being said that DJ Calvin Harris, Drake, Kanye West, Lana Del Rey and Ariana Grande appeared close to No. 1. But, of course, there can only be one!

And what does Sheeran have to say? Not sure, because he's busy releasing some new tracks via Twitter and doing the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Poor guy...
