Blake Lively Reveals That Her Mom Is Definitely Her Role Model During Her Pregnancy
Green Lantern actress Blake Lively is ready to be a mom, and she's looking to her own mother for guidance throughout the process. As Blake and her husband Ryan Reynolds prepare for their first child together, the Gossip Girl star is relieved to have such a great role model to look up to.
"If I could pass along anything that my mother or my sisters taught me, I feel like my kids will be very well off," Blake told People at L'Oréal Paris's ninth annual Women of Worth Awards event Tuesday, Dec. 2.
Blake also opened up about more fantastic women who she has chosen to surround herself with throughout her pregnancy and in her daily life.
"I'm also fortunate enough to be amongst women like this. The woman tonight who I'm honoring, Brittany Wenger, created this app at 16 years old to help diagnose cancer," she revealed to the publication. "I'm fortunate to come across people like that. And anything that I learn to be able to expose my children to and instill any sort of values or motivation in them, that's exciting."
The biggest role model in Blake's life is clearly her mother, who has been there for her every step of the way since she found out she was pregnant.
"My mom is a huge woman of worth for me because she's been my idol my whole life," The Town star told reporters in New York. "My mom was someone who juggled everything. She had her own career, she raised five kids, she was Superwoman. And she was never satisfied doing just one thing because ... she probably just had too much energy. So for me, it was important to have that because that's what I felt like I knew best."
Besides getting ready for a baby in the house, Blake has been focusing on her lifestyle site Preserve, which recently released its gift guide. The Preserve Gift Guide includes everything from water paint pillows and candles to beautiful earrings and artisan sea salts.
