The Australian horror movie, The Babadook, looks like a move that will go down in history as one of the scariest of 2014 and possibly all time. With rave reviews praising director Jennifer Kent for her magnificent filmmaking, will she decide to continue the terrifying tale of this children's story gone wrong with a sequel? Will we ever see a Babadook 2 in the future? According to Kent, she has no plans of making this into a franchise like so many other horror series have done in the past. (SPOILERS to follow)

To get a better grasp on just how horrifying the film is, we direct you to a quote from Stephen King.

"Deeply disturbing and highly recommended. You watch it so much as experience it."

These days, a successful horror movie can turn into an unsuccessful string of sequels, prequels and the like. When asked by IGN about her worries of this happening to this horror masterpiece, Kent had a great response.

"Well, the good news is, I had the foresight to make sure that my producer and I owned the rights to any sequels. The reason for that is I will never allow any sequel to be made, because it's not that kind of film. I don't care how much I'm offered, it's just not going to happen," she said, laughing. "It's just not what the film's about. It would destroy the integrity of everything we worked so hard to protect. So we are publishing a version of the book, and really that's not about merchandising; it's about creating a standalone, beautiful piece of art that goes with the film -- a companion piece. But that's as far as we're going in the sense of sidelines or sequels."
