Rihanna and Chris Brown: Joan Rivers Wants to "Slap Idiot" Rihanna after Oprah Interview
Which celebrity dares to spark more controversy over Rihanna's discussion with Oprah about her tumultuous relationship with Chris Brown? It was none other than comedian and television personality Joan Rivers. A woman who rarely filters her true thoughts and beliefs, the "Fashion Police" host hit up Twitter last week, slamming Rihanna for comments she made about Chris Brown in her interview on "Oprah's Next Chapter."
In a tweet posted on Aug. 24, 79-year-old Rivers wrote:
@Joan_Rivers: "Rihanna confessed to Oprah Winfrey that she still loves Chris Brown. Idiot! Now it's MY turn to slap her."
The "Disturbia" songstress then shot back with:
@rihanna: "@Joan_Rivers wow u really do get slow when you're old huh?"
Of course Rivers couldn't just leave it at that - the infamous television show host then answered:
@Joan_Rivers: "Honey, @Rihanna, everyone knows: If he hit you once, he'll hit you again. Read the statistics. PS - Love to have you on Fashion Police!"
Rihanna has yet to accept or decline the invite.
Rivers instigated the heated Twitter "feud" in reference to a recent, intimate Oprah interview with the "We Found Love" singer. Rihanna tearfully told the popular media mogul, "[Chris Brown and I] love each other and we probably always will. And that's not anything that we're gonna try to change. It's not something you can shut off if you've ever been in love." The hip-hop couple broke up in 2009 after Brown was charged with domestically abusing the "S&M" star.
