'American Horror Story' Emma Roberts & 'New Girl' Jamie Lee Curtis Cast In 'Scream Queens,' Ryan Murphy's New Project
It looks like American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy has found his Scream Queens in none other than Emma Roberts and Jamie Lee Curtis. The brains behind the FX horror anthology will be continuing his spooky storytelling as he makes his way to Fox to headline their new comedy-horror Scream Queens. Murphy has cast veteran AHS actress Roberts to star in the new project, alongside Jamie Lee Curtis.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the series will air on Fox and will feature a 15-episode first season. Brad Falchuk, Ian Brennan and Dante Di Loreto will also work on the show together, that has been described as a hybrid containing both comedic elements as well as scary scenes.
And it seems that both Curtis and Roberts have enough experience doing horror and comedy equally amazing. Curtis has credits for films such as Halloween and Freaky Friday under her belt, while Roberts has starred in We Are The Millers and Scream 4, giving them experience in both genres.
The first season of the show will take place on a college campus and will follow the events that happen their after a series of murders.
"I knew I wanted to work with Brad and Ian again on something comedic, and we are having a blast writing Scream Queens," Murphy explained in a statement, via E! News. "We hope to create a whole new genre- comedy-horror- and the idea is for every season to revolve around two female leads. We've already begun a nationwide search for these women, as well as 10 supporting role, and we're very grateful to Dana [Walden] and Gary [Newman] for their enthusiastic support."
And it looks like the creator has found his women.
The series will debut in the fall of 2015.
