'Dancing With The Stars' Cheryl Burke Quits After Len Goodman Leaves- Dancing Pro Joining NBC Variety Show
The door is definitely revolving over on Dancing With the Stars. In the wake of the news that judge Len Goodman wouldn't be returning to the series, it has been revealed that Cheryl Burke is also exiting stage left. The dancing pro, who has been with the show for multiple years, announced that she was unsure of her status with the ABC dancing competition, but today it looks like she has made her choice and is taking up a new job on an NBC variety show.
According to E! News, the dancer will be changing networks but will continue to be a performer, however few other details have been announced regarding the new show that Burke will be a part of.
The news site reached out to both ABC and NBC for comments, but their calls were left unreturned. It is being speculated that the show will be a reality competition where Burke will perform.
Sadly for fans, it doesn't even seem like Burke will be featured on the dancing series for a final season, as her contract just expired with DWTS and the new project is set to start in 2015, according to People.
While the star says that she has loved her experience on the ABC show and that it was hard to walk away from the series, she felt that she need to do it as a way to grow as a performer.
"I never thought I'd be able to walk away," the star revealed to the magazine. "But after a decade of something, it's time for me to move on and try something different to be challenged, to feel inspired. Dancing with the Stars will always be a part of my life. Dancing is what I've done since I was a little girl. But it was very clear the show only wanted me back as a dancer. They weren't interested in using me for other things and letting me grown."
