According to IGN, while these two films are leading in nominations, they aren't in the same "Best Motion Picture" category, meaning they could each take home a Golden Globe as a top film. Boyhood is in the drama category with Foxcatcher, The Imitation Game, Selma and The Theory of Everything. Birdman is in the comedy category along with The Grand Budapest Hotel, Into the Woods, Pride and St. Vincent.
We'd also like to point out that film composer Alexandre Desplat is nominated for his work on The Imitation Game. For more on this music and Desplat's work, check out our recent exclusive interview with the talented composer right here!
