Former two-term Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell is a noted Philadelphia Eagles fan. The retired politician is a current analyst on Comcast Sportsnet's Eagles Post-Game Live show, wear he and a panel of other analysts from the NFL and Philly area discusses their favorite team. This week we found out just how loyal Rendell is to his Birds, when he called out current New Jersey Governor, Chris Christie, for being a fan of rivals the Dallas Cowboys, even though most NJ residents tend to root for the Eagles. In fact, Rendell didn't pull any punches and called the Governor and Presidential hopeful a "wuss" for his "pathetic" fandom.

While appearing on radio show 97.5 the Fanatic this week, Christie's affinity for the Cowboys came up, with Rendell being asked if it was illegal for a NJ Governor to be a fan of the team.

"It's legal but it indicates a basic inferiority complex," he said. "If you are a Jerseyite or a Pennsylvanian and you're rooting for the Cowboys, it means you're not secure in yourself and you wanted to root for a team that was a team in your youth that was a constant winner."

According to NJ.com, he clarified his point, adding, "How can a Jersey guy be a Cowboys fan? It's pathetic."

When the suggestion of Rendell and Christie "duking it out" came up, Rendell made sure everyone knew his stance on the issue.

"Tell him I think he's nothing but a wuss," the former Governor stated.

Clearly these are some heated words from Rendell, but we know that Eagles fans are very diehard - especially when it comes to the Cowboys.
