'Teen Mom' Amber Portwood Dating Criminal After Gary Shirley? Maci Bookout & Catelynn Lowell's Cast Mates Secret BF Exposed
It seems that dating criminals might run in the Teen Mom family. Star of the popular series, Amber Portwood, has recently just set her sights on a new man, after moving on from her ex, Gary Shirley. However, it seems that this new man in her life might have a somewhat sordid past. The star has taken to her Twitter account to post messages referring to a mystery guy that she has been seeing over the last three months, even mentioning that they got matching tattoos during a getaway weekend to Las Vegas, but could this man spell trouble for Portwood, who herself is a recovering addict?
According to Radar Online, it seems that Portwood's new boyfriend is 43-year-old Boston native Matthew Baier, who has been arrested multiple times in the past. The boyfriend who is 19-years older than Amber has gotten in trouble in the past for multiple DUI charges as well as writing bounced checks.
The news site goes on to reveal that Portwood has been trying to keep the identity of her mystery guy a secret, specifically because she doesn't want his past to be revealed. The site even goes as far as to say that Amber could risk her own newly sober lifestyle if she continues to date him.
Baier was not only arrested for issuing checks without funds, but he was also arrested for a DUI and sentenced to jail for 30 days. A few years later, he was arrested for simple assault, and then again for issuing checks without funds. The sentencing time for most of these cases were unable to be found by the news site, since they took place in the early to mid 1990s.
According to The Hollywood Gossip, Portwood's rumored beau was in financial trouble more recently when he was issued a federal tax lien of almost $30,000 back in 2008.
Amber is expected to make her return to Teen Mom when the first series premieres its new season early next year. No word yet if fans will get to see her rumored boy toy make an appearance.
