Bruno Mars Hair Curlers Overshadow 'The Voice' Winner 2014 [WATCH]: Mark Ronson 'Uptown Funk' Performance Wows Twitter Fans, Viral Retro 'Homage' Look [VIDEO]
The Season 7 finale of "The Voice" finally aired on Tuesday evening (December 16). Several big-name musicians hit the stage before the official winner was announced... and it turns out that Bruno Mars' funky hairdo' is what really stole the show!
The Unorthodox Jukebox crooner performed Mark Ronson's new hit tune "Uptown Funk" alongside the up-and-coming English DJ. The 29-year-old Hawaiian native is known for his handsomely classic "throwback" fashion sense. But what's up with the hair curlers?
As GossipCop.com points-out, the bizarre look is probably a "nod" to the viral "Uptown Funk" music video, where Mars flaunts curlers while getting a perm. Also, the trend is likely a homage to classic funk and soul. Check it out:
Hey, considering the rather outdated and "feminine" hair procedure, Mars pulls it off pretty good! Do MstarsNews readers agree? And the boys totally rocked it:
Here's what some Twitter fans are buzzing about:
@Jameskiii: "Yes. You can be cool. But you will never be Bruno Mars wearing gold hair curlers cool."
@tvtagTheVoice: "Currently obsessing over Bruno Mars' hair curlers. #VoiceFinale."
@Dearallyg: "I love Bruno Mars... But if I start to see dudes with curlers in their hair just kickin it at the gas station or Taco Bell..."
@_wxightlxss_: "Bruno Mars is prolly the only male artist I know who would perform onstage with curlers in his hair and still freakin' nail it."
@Maroonsista: "If u don't understand y @BrunoMars is wearing hair curlers you know NOTHING about soul & funk. Study @sinbadbad funk specials. #VoiceFinale."
@jesJET208: "I strongly feel that watching Bruno Mars perform in hair curlers should make me think 'WTH' or 'gross' but nope. He's perfect."
So apparently Mars should keep the digs!
Another insider for the infamous gossip webloid HollywoodLife.com explains:
"He thought that the the look was very cool and funky, and he wanted to pay homage to the time of this type of music of the 70s... He did the same thing in the music video, so he wanted the performance and the music video to mesh and just look cool. He really likes the look and may continue it."
Well, it works!
Oh, and the winner of 2014's "The Voice" is Team Blake Shelton's country crooner, Craig Wayne Boyd!
