Spike Lee Films Honored With Special Award At 69th Venice Film Festival
Director Spike Lee is being honored for his films at the 69th Venice Film Festival with the "Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory to the Filmmaker" Award that is "dedicated [to] a personality who has brought great innovation to contemporary cinema."
The Awards ceremony will be held today August 31, 2012 followed by a world premiere screening of "Bad 25." Lee's new documentary "Bad 25" revolves around Michael Jackson's legendary album "Bad."
The documentary will pay tribute to the late Michael Jackson whose left one of the largest impressions on the pop music industry. The two-hour long film will also feature interviews with musicians who have been impacted by Jackson's life and music including Mariah Carey, Justin Bieber, Cee Lo Green and Kanye West.
Lee has been Oscar-nominated for films such as "Do the Right Thing" and "4 Little Girls."
