After a marvelous decade of fact-checking hundreds of urban myths, Discovery's Mythbusters is about to take on the popular Fox sitcom, The Simpsons. Using facts and psychics, co-hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman will attempt to figure out if a real-life Homer Simpson can handle so much cartoon punishment.

In the season premiere, Mythbusters will test out various scenarios from the laugh-out-loud Simpsons episodes. If you throw a cherry bomb into the toilet, just like Bart did, will all the toilets in the same room act like geysers? Though Homer remained intact, what would happen if an actual human body was hit by a wrecking ball.

Savage explains to Entertainment Weekly the process of finding two houses to wreck and building a life-size Homer Simpson model, " It's very difficult to find things that are about to be destroyed. We ended up building two replicas of the Springfield house out at a landfill. Then of course we had to make a Homer-this was the first time we made a non-human crash-test dummy because Homer is human, but he's also a cartoon character, which means his proportions are totally not human."

Upcoming episodes will tackle myths from the Indiana Jones film franchise and AMC's Emmy-winning Breaking Bad.

As we previously mentioned, the science show will be going back to basics and shrink down the format to just two regular hosts. Co-hosts Grant Imahara, Kari Byron, and Tory Belleci will not be returning this season as the show enters a  new direction. Savage and Hyneman will be the only two hosts debunking fact from fiction.

Just in time for the holidays, The Simpsons will be airing their Christmas special. In the plot synopsis of Won't Be Home For Christmas, Homer ends up drinking on Christmas Eve and forgets to return to his family. This episode comes months after the hilarious Futurama crossover.

The 13th season of Mythbusters will return in January. Readers, are you excited to see how Adam and Jamie disprove/prove The Simpsons
