Arrow Season 3 Spoilers: Caity Lotz Returning as Sara in Episode 13 'Canaries'

When fans of the CW's Arrow learned the title of Episode 13 of Season 3, "Canaries," they got excited for the return of Caity Lotz as Sara Lance, aka the Canary. Sara died in the Season 3 premiere, but the structure of this show allows for flashbacks, dreams, and even hallucinations. So what happens when she comes back?

The "Matt's Inside Line" column at TVLine has some information.

Showrunner Marc Guggenheim sums it up as 'a really cool episode' in which Lotz appears as (of course) Sara and Peter Stormare (Prison Break) reprises his role as the villain Vertigo, which is a purposeful season-premiere callback. 'It's an episode where a lot of things that we've been doing and setting up during the season really sort of come together,' Guggenheim says of the intent to bring things 'full circle.' He adds, 'It's not a 'climactic' kind of episode, but there's a feeling of a big payoff by the end of it.'"

Stormare's inclusion as the Count strongly indicates that Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy), who will soon suit up as the Black Canary, would suffer the effects of his Vertigo drug, which causes hallucinations. He hit Oliver with some in the Season 3 premiere and the Arrow hallucinated a fight with himself, so it's not out of the realm of possibilities that Laurel would see her sister.
