Oppa Gangnam Style Dance by Psy the Next Dougie or Macarena? [POLL]

Oppa Gangnam Style is the latest international craze that has the potential to surpass Carly Rae Jepsen's summer hit "Call Me Maybe" popularity. From being an unknown South Korean rapper, Psy has become an overnight sensation where the mention of his name breaks out a horse riding dance.

Numerous parodies have been submitted on Youtube, including one by Canadian singer Nelly Furtado at a live concert.

Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Josh Groban, Justin Bieber, Scooter Braun, Ryan Seacrest, T Pain, among others have recognized the growing popularity of Gangnam Style.

While most of Psy's pop industry peers are working very hard to make music that can appeal to the U.S. market, Psy had admittedly created the song mainly for the South Korean audience with no intention to break through beyond the Korean and Japanese market. Psy's sudden thrust into the U.S. market due to his wacky and addictive music video, tune, and dance was completely unexpected.

The Gangnam Style video has wracked up 82 million views and counting in record time since its debut on July 15, 2012. It is starting to become difficult to find someone who has not heard about the wacky dance yet. Humorously, a "No Gangnam Style" sign has emerged in an undisclosed city where the dance was becoming wildly popular.

Some have even dubbed the Gangnam Style dance as the next Dougie or Macarena. The Macarena dance is one of the most widely known dances in the world.

One Twitter user with the handler @teamsinglekami wrote, "Dear Dougie, you may rest in peace. Sincerely, Oppa Gangnam Style."
