Adele Pregnant 2012: Singer Tweets Denial of Marriage Rumors
British pop/soul singer Adele hit Twitter on Thursday, denying the fast-spreading rumors that her and current beau (and father of her soon-to-be child) Simon Konecki married in a recent, private ceremony. The "Rumor has It" songstress claims that no such ceremony took place.
The tweet the 24-year-old Grammy winner posted on Thursday simply reads:
@OfficialAdele: "I'm not married... Zzzzzzz."
The Adele marriage rumors began to fly after the Daily Mail quoted an "inside source" as saying, "They did get married, and I was present. It was a fabulous occasion. Adele was dressed in a classic attire and Simon looked very smart and joyous."
False.
Although the "Rolling in the Deep" star didn't marry hubby Konecki, the couple is indeed expecting a child. In June Adele announced the baby news on her website, stating in a post: "I'm delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together. I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we're over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx."
The lovebirds first met last summer, and made their relationship official in January.
Adele has recently been spotted sporting a pretty large baby bump. It has been speculated that the songstress was already seven months along when she announced the news earlier this summer, and she may even be due to give birth as early as September, although this has yet to be confirmed by the "21" star.
