TobyMac 'Eye On It' Eyeing No. 1 on Billboard 200 and iTunes Chart, Just Who is He?

TobyMac's "Eye On It" is going to take over the No. 1 spot on Billboard 200, according to Billboard's prediction with the official results released on Wednesday Sept. 4. The album also topped iTunes at No. 1 when it released and is now sitting at No 7, surpassing One Direction and Usher.

Many music fans wondered just who this TobyMac guy was. He is a Christian hip hop artist who has been around for a long time. His credits include the famous Christian hit "Jesus Freak" in one of the first popular Christian contemporary bands DC Talk. He has recently recorded with American Idol alum Mandisa for her single "Good Morning."

According to a review by Anne Kiplinger, TobyMac's latest album "Eye On It"can appeal to a wider audience and is a refreshing alternative to Lil Wayne and other rappers whose lyrics are not so clean.

The hip hop and rap industry has been filled with songs about about sex, money, fame, and drugs. tobeMac's album features positive lyrics that parents will approve.

One song titled "Made For Me" is dedicated to finding true love with his wife. "Family" is about everyday struggles that families experience to remain close and together. There are also songs that clearly speaks about his Christian faith including the song "Forgiveness," which is a far cry from Rick Ross' "God Forgives But I Don't" album.

The rapper thanks his fans by writing, "Looks like#1 on the Billboard top200 chart is possible! You guys r the best. Thank u, thank u!! Keep sharing the love."
