Gangnam Style Video Reaches 100 Million Youtube Video Views, Scooter Braun Signs Psy
The music video for Gangnam Style by South Korean rapper Psy has surpassed 100 million views on Youtube on September 4, 2012. It has officially set a new record for South Korean artists. Psy has recently announced that he signed with Justin Bieber's agency, Schoolboy Records managed by Scooter Braun.
Braun revealed in a video, "We've been hanging out in California for four days. And we've come to an agreement to make some history together and be the first Korean artist to break a big record in the United States."
Psy will be working on promoting his original track before considering an American remake. Braun has a keen eye for viral sensations, as he had discovered Justin Bieber. Schoolboy Records artists Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen and The Wanted are all currently nominated on the MTA VMAs this year.
Will Psy now become a prominent pop star beyond a one hit wonder? Only time can tell.
