Kellie Pickler Shaves Head in Support of Pal Battling Breast Cancer [VIDEO]

Country crooner Kellie Pickler picked up the razor and shaved off her golden locks on Tuesday in support of her best friend, Summer Holt Miller, who was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this June and plans on starting chemotherapy treatment on Thursday. Pickler, who awesomely rocks the shaved do', sent a short video clip to "Good Morning America" on Wednesday of the hair-buzzing moment, prompting viewers that "early detection is key."

In a tweet posted on Tuesday, 26-year-old Pickler writes:

@kelliepickler: "It's been a great life-changing day."

Pickler recently announced in a statement, "Cancer does not discriminate." Miller, 35 and mother-of-two, added, "If this compels even one person to change their mentality toward waiting until the age of 40 for their mammogram, then it will be worth it."

While Miller was declared cancer-free in August after undergoing a double mastectomy, the chemotherapy treatments will help to ensure that the cancer doesn't come back.
