Jessica Sanchez To Perform at Barack Obama's Big DNC Party
Jessica Sanchez is lined up to perform live at the Democratic National Convention to officially nominate President Barack Obama as the official Democratic candidate.
Sanchez tweeted on August 31, "I might not be old enough to vote, but I'm so honored and excited to perform at @BarackObama's big party in Charlotte next week! #DNC2012!"
The 17-year-old is one of the few carefully selected performers including Foo Fighters, Mary J. Blige, DJ Cassidy, Earth, Wind and Fire, James Talor, Delta Rae, and Inspire the Fire. LedisiAmber Riley, Branford Marsalis, and Marc Anthony will sing the national anthem on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday respectively.
The American Idol runner-up will have the chance to sing in front of 1000s of democratic delegates. The performance will also be broadcasted live on the DNC website.
