'Frozen' Star Idina Menzel & Taye Diggs Divorce Finalized After Stripper Cheating Scandal? 'Let It Go' Singer Defends New Year's Eve Performance
Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs have finally "Let It Go", with their divorce having been finalized almost a year after they initially split, following rumors or Diggs cheating on Menzel with a bevy of strippers. Frozen star Menzel and Best Man Holiday actor Diggs have a five year old son named Walker, and were married for 10 years. They split in December 2013, and once official divorce proceedings were underway, it seems like they quickly sorted out their custody and financial issues. Meanwhile, following her NYE performance of "Let It Go" on ABC, the singer took to twitter to defend herself from criticism.
TMZ report that after Diggs filed for divorce in New York in November 2014 - 11 months after the pair split - their "divorce was quickly finalized on December 3."
TMZ add that the split has been amicable and that "they've both remained committed to raising their son together and peacefully."
As USA Today explain, Diggs and Menzel "met while co-starring in the Broadway hit Rent and married in January 2003."
Following their split, the couple also recently sold their home in Los Angeles's Studio City, parting with the six bedroom, four bathroom property to the tune of $2.55 million in late November, according to the LA Times.
Diggs - who has starred in How Stella Got Her Groove Back, Rent, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, and The Best Man Holiday - is currently starring opposite Kathleen Robertson in TNT drama Murder In The First. Their split came - as Mstars News reported - after ut was alleged that Diggs had been seen getting cozy with another woman at a Hollywood nightclub, and had been spotted in strip clubs. Diggs eventually stepped out with new girlfriend, Deal Or No Deal model Amanza Smith Brown at the 2014 BET Awards.
Meanwhile Rent and Wicked Broadway star Menzel has had a huge 18 months since the release of the animated Disney film Frozen, in which she voiced Elsa sang the worldwide hit "Let It Go", much to the annoyance of parents the world over. She also welcomed in 2015 by taking part in ABC's Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve With Ryan Seacrest alongside Taylor Swift, One Direction and Iggy Azalea.
Menzel also responded to online criticism of her performance by saying "I am more than the notes I hit", and posting this:
