Dwyane Wade and the Heat have had a tough start to the 2014-15 NBA regular season, as they struggle to integrate all the new moving parts of their team without Lebron James, but they still sit eighth in the Eastern Conference, and are at the No. 16 spot in Matt Moore's official NBA power rankings for CBS Sports with their 14-19 record. Says Moore, however, that Miami remain classy, if inconsistent.
"Lose to the Sixers on Tuesday, beat the Cavs handily on Christmas. Also, classy display by the organization in how they handled LeBron James' return. Miami's culture is strong, something James probably misses right now."
As for Houston, they're 22-10 for the season and 5th in the western conference after dealing with injuries to Howard. But according to ESPN, coach Kevin McHale blasted his team for not having "any effort, any concentration," after his team's Friday night loss to New Orleans. "We were terrible. They came out and just kicked our tails up one side and down the other."
According to Moore's Power Rankings - where Houston still rank 5th out of 30 - the Rockets will be fine, but he has a couple of questions.
"Can Josh Smith jump-start their offense? This is a weird question to be asking about a team that's a legitimate title contender, but here we are, in the Mad Max-like post-apocalyptic Western Conference wasteland, where it's all fast vehicles and dust storms."
The game will be broadcast by CSN Houston, plus fans can also listen in on the radio at 790 The Ticket, Sports 610, and Sports 790 AM.
